Our Love Story
“Ironically, we have both been vacationing at Chippewa Flowage with our families since we were born. We used to vacation 1 mile apart (7 hours in Northern Wisconsin), but didn’t even know it until Brian showed up at my work one day with varicose veins that needed to be treated. I worked for a vascular surgeon in Oak Park IL, and he worked at the Oak Park Hospital connected to our doctors office. On one of his office visits we got to chatting and realized that we had more in common than we initially thought. It took a few years to go out on our first date but once we did, it was game over.
He proposed to me on the Chippewa Flowage, on a very windy day, next to Pine Island. He told me we were going fishing. He had bobbers in the minnow bucket and when I went to grab a minnow, I opened the bucket and there were the bobbers that said WILL YOU MARRY ME?We pulled up to Pine Island, got out and drank some champagne and celebrated before we went back to our cabins to celebrate with both sides of our family.”
Our Wedding Video
“A wedding video was a MUST for us because we’ll always have this memory to watch. A lot goes into a wedding and we wanted to be able to see it from the guests point of view. We’re so thrilled how Mike Staff Productions captured our day as it unfolded.”
Our Mike Staff Productions DJ
“Our first dance was choreographed to ‘Bonfire Heart’ by James Blunt. It was one of Brian’s dad’s favorite songs that he talked about before he passed away. It also has gorgeous lyrics that totally describe us and our story.”
“DJ Steve not only had the dance floor packed at our reception but talk about bonus talent – he played the violin at our ceremony and he was FANTASTIC!!! Steve was EXTREMELY organized, fun to work with, easy to get hold of, and crossed all the T’s and dotted all the I’s. Our entire wedding loved hearing “Cecilia” by Simon & Garfunkel, it packed the dance floor!”
Our Wedding Vision
“Since we have a love for the Northwoods, we choose a romantic rustic theme with a little bit of fall mixed in. It was beautiful! Our wedding cake looked like a birch tree and even had pinecones on it!”
“My favorite moment was the speeches made by our best man and maid of honor. They were truthful and sweet, yet hilarious! I also lost my composure when they opened the doors for me to talk down the aisle. It was overwhelming and seeing Brian at the end of the aisle and all of our family and friends, took my breath away.Brian’s favorite part of the wedding when when we finished our choreographed dance and we could finally have a drink!”
Thank you Jen & Brian! We loved working with you!
