“The Mike Staff Productions experience was definitely one of the wisest decisions to make on our wedding vendor selections. They made the experience extremely personal by having conversations with us about what details are most important for us to include on our wedding day. They listened to the vision of how we wanted our wedding. We would definitely recommend Mike Staff to any engaged couple! We did find a benefit in hiring both the Mike Staff DJ and Videographer because it made the process easier for the two vendors to be familiar with how each other would be working that day. Those two services being a part of the same company made our planning process more cohesive.” – Happy Bride, Catherine
Our Love Story
“My husband proposed during the ten second countdown right before the New Year’s Eve ball dropped on January 1st, 2017. We were at our annual New Year’s Eve party with my family and our close family friends. With all our loved ones gathered around us in a circle, Fonso got down on one knee as they all were counting down, and we rang in the very first second of the new year as a joyfully engaged couple. It was the perfect setting for celebrating, and it made 2017 an incredible year from the very start.
We met on a mission trip during our college spring breaks in March 2016. We went to two separate colleges, and we were both serving with our churches on a mission trip in Panama City Beach, Florida. While we were evangelizing to college spring breakers on the streets at night, our teams ran into each other and I introduced myself to Fonso. We then walked into Subway with our teams, and I boldly sat next to Fonso at an open table. We instantly connected and shared our love for Christ with each other. After the mission trip, we reconnected on social media and began a friendship. After a few months of communicating long distance, we reunited in June of 2016 for our first date at Bad Brad’s BBQ for lunch. After a week, I visited Fonso at his college and he officially asked me to be his girlfriend on July 9th, 2016. We dated for about 6 months until getting engaged on New Year’s Eve of 2016. We enjoyed a beautiful, busy season of engagement until getting married on February 24th, 2018.”
Our Wedding Video
“Getting a wedding video was so important to us because this is the one event in your life that you want to remember every single detail of and aren’t able to capture on your own as the bride and groom. It was so comforting to know all day that every special moment and the greatest day of our lives was being filmed. I especially loved being able to watch the processional of our ceremony because this is a portion of the day that, as the bride, you aren’t able to see your wedding party walking down the aisle because you are standing behind everyone. It makes us tear up whenever we watch it because of how powerful and love-filled each second of our wedding day was.”
Our Mike Staff Productions DJ
We chose “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green as our first dance song because it suits our relationship and music style. We loved how the lyrics spoke clearly about unconditional love through all seasons of life, which is something we value and will always maintain.
The songs that our Mike Staff DJ played that had everyone on the dance floor were “The Wobble” and “Cha Cha Slide.” Our reception was amazing, and everyone loved the music, both during the cocktail hour and the dancing. We loved that the second the first song came on to open up the dance floor to the guests, everyone rushed onto the dance floor and started dancing. This was a good sign that the night was going to be unforgettable.
Our Wedding Vision:
“The vision I had for our wedding was for it to look romantic, passionate, warm, elegant, and classy in the wintertime. This was brought to life by the deep red, silver, and pearl color scheme. My bridesmaids wore a deep red dress, and they each had a silver shawl and rhinestone bracelet. The groomsmen wore gray suits with the same deep red colored vests. The flowers were a beautiful, romantic array of cream and red roses with greens and white accent flowers. The centerpieces at the reception included silver charger plates with roses and greens laid on them and glass vases filled with sugar, pearls, and candles. Every detail of our wedding from my dress to our ceremony church to the reception venue was sophisticated, elegant, and romantic. “
“Some favorite moments from our wedding day were having our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and mentors pray over us separately before the ceremony. We also loved praying around the corner together as a couple before the ceremony. This was very special and intimate because we couldn’t see each other around the corner but were able to hear each other’s voices praying before the ceremony. I also loved when my dad had a first look of me once I was all dressed and ready before the ceremony.”
Thank you, Catherine & Alfonso! It was an honor to work with you!
