The Real Detroit Wedding of Elizabeth and Eric

Our Real Detroit Wedding: June 2, 2018

Mike Staff was great!  They are so professional and they truly made my wedding a great and memorable event.  They know what they are doing and I feel like they make the process so much easier because of their knowledge and expertise.” – Happy Bride, Elizabeth

Our Love Story

“Eric and I had been together for a couple years when he turned to me and said that he found a great deal on this cabin up north.  We had never talked about getting a cabin and the idea seemed a bit ridiculous and great at the same time.  We drove up north and peeked in the windows and we both fell in love with the cabin.  Our offer was accepted and we closed a couple months later.  We spent a lot of time over the summer at the cabin and the lake, working and enjoying our new hideaway.  On a Friday after work in December we drove up to the cabin to spend a quiet weekend.  Shortly after settling in, Eric got on one knee and proposed.  Eric said he knew that the first time he saw the place that he knew it was the place he wanted to propose.”

Our Wedding Video

Full disclosure, I didn’t want a wedding video, Eric wanted it and I agreed.  A lot of people will tell you that you watch it once and then you never watch it again.  But I love my wedding video and have watched it 4 times already!  First, there were so many things that I didn’t get to see and now I get to see them, i.e; the ring bearer and flower girl walking down the aisle, the bridal party coming into the room, Eric getting ready, etc.  Next, it is great to see all of your family and friends interacting and enjoying your day.  Lastly, other people will love the video just as much as you, i.e., parents, grandparents, siblings, flower girl, ring bearer.

Our Wedding Vision

“I wanted a traditional wedding with simple elegance. The pink uplighting we selected from Mike Staff Productions really helped create that elegant look. It gave the room great ambiance. Overall, I just wanted my guests to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. As for one of my favorite parts of the day, there was a moment right after we walked up to the altar and Eric turned to me and whispered in my ear, “You are so beautiful.”

Our Mike Staff Productions DJ

“Our Mike Staff Productions DJ, DJ Dave,  came up to me and told me that we only had a few minutes left and asked what I wanted for a last song. I couldn’t believe the night was already coming to an end! The dance floor was still packed with people and I told Dave to do what he felt best.  Dave asked everyone to get in a circle around Eric and I and he played Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.   This was one of my favorite moments of the day; it was so nice seeing all of our friends around us – they were having a great time, we were having a great time and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
As for our first dance, we selected Can’t Help Falling in Love by Haley Reinhart.  I love the original version of this song and always thought it would be a great wedding first dance song.  Eric and I heard this rendition at the end of a yoga class a couple years prior and I thought it was beautiful.”
