Our Love Story
We went to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. Afterwards, Cody wanted to try out the new telescope he bought on our roof. We missed the comet he was looking for, but when I turned around, he was down on one knee!
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted a wedding that felt like ‘us’ and was fun for our guests. This meant including classic cars, Legos, Star Wars, heavy metal, and our dogs.
Our Favorite Wedding Moments
Our favorite moment was driving away in Courtney’s Corvette after the ceremony. The most nerve-racking part of the day was behind us, we were officially married, and it was time to party!
Wedding DJ Experience
Our professional wedding DJ, Joe, kept the dance floor full all night, and we had complete trust in him to find the right vibe. He was all about our flash mob mosh pit, too! Our first dance was to ‘Nothing Else Matters’ by Metallica. We loved the sentiment of the lyrics and that we could slow dance to it while still staying true to our metalhead roots.
Wedding Photography Experience
Chris, our wedding photographer, was fantastic! Everyone felt at ease around him, and he kept everything light and fun without being overly cheesy. Photos were a quintessential part of the wedding day for us, and we’re glad we had Chris to lead the charge.
Wedding Videography Experience
I really wanted a professional wedding video because, as the bride, I was the last to enter the ceremony and the first to leave, meaning I wouldn’t get to see anyone walking down the aisle. I think it will be great to watch on our anniversary for years to come, too.

Have fun with the process! If it’s stressing you out, take a step back and delegate smaller tasks to someone you trust if you can. If you’re DIYing any decor, start way earlier than you think you need to, so you’re not scrambling to finish.
