The Fox Hills Wedding of Amanda & Carter: May 31, 2025
“Yes, we would hands down recommend Mike Staff. Everything was seamless. They worked with us to get us everything we wanted. The team worked so well together and they were knowledgeable of our venue because they had been there before.” – Happy couple, Amanda & Carter
Our Love Story
Carter and I met at work. On my first day, they sat me next to him. We developed a friendship first, and on a work lunch that turned into a 2-hour conversation, I realized I had feelings for him. Shortly after, we started dating. Our second date was at the DIA, and it’s still one of our favorite dates. On our 2nd anniversary, Carter took me back to the DIA and surprised me with a proposal. I’m the organizer of the relationship, so it was awesome to see Carter in that planning role. (He even had a proposal PowerPoint called “Mission Probable”)
Our Wedding Vision
My vision was a romantic spring garden party. I wanted the day to be full of love, joy, and intentional moments with each other and our family and friends.
Our Favorite Wedding Moments
My favorite moment from my wedding was our first look. After months of keeping the secret of my dress, I loved finally showing Carter, and it was a beautiful, private moment that helped calm my nerves. Carter’s favorite part was watching me walk down the aisle to him.
Wedding DJ Experience
Kevin, our wedding DJ, did a great job of balancing what we wanted versus what our guests requested. We wanted our night to end with a fun dance party, and that’s what we got! I was also worried about the ceremony audio for our video, and it turned out very clear, even with all of the wind we had. Our first dance was to “Faithfully” by Journey. We were deciding between a few. But I think the reason it stood apart from the others is that we went to a Journey/Def Leppard concert last year together. We joked after each song, “Should this be our song?” and Faithfully is one that made sense.
Wedding Photography Experience
We absolutely loved working with our wedding photographers! They were so easy to work with—clear with direction, full of creative ideas, and always made sure our must-have shots were captured. It was clear they genuinely cared about helping us get everything we wanted (and more!) out of our photos. These images mean so much to us—they’re from one of the most important days of our lives, and now we get to treasure them forever.
Wedding Videography Experience
Getting a wedding video was so important to us because, while photos capture a single moment, video brings the full memory to life. We wanted to be able to look back on those big, emotional moments like our first look, reading our vows, the speeches from our loved ones, and dancing the night away with our friends. We love how the video captured all the emotion and energy of the day. It means so much to know we’ll be able to relive it, again and again.
Our Wedding Planning Advice
Define what aspects are most important to you, whether it’s the food, the music, the attire, the photos etc, and always keep those in mind. There are a lot of wedding ideas and expectations out there, and it’s easy to get distracted. But they’re not necessarily what you’re going to remember the most.
