The Meeting House Grand Ballroom Wedding of Sarah & Terry: May 10, 2025
“We would absolutely recommend Mike Staff Productions to anyone. Great communication, very transparent (no hidden fees or clauses), fun people to work with/be with on your wedding day, and always deliver. Our wedding video could have taken up to 8 weeks and we got it in 4, and I really appreciate being able to ask for changes if my vision was a little different then the editors.” – Happy bride, Sarah
Our Love Story
Terry proposed to me at the Highlands in downtown Detroit. It was the same restaurant he took me too when he asked me to be his girlfriend. He booked the same table from that night 3 years later on our anniversary to ask me to be his wife!
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted a mix between like a Disney castle & Gilded age vibe – very timeless, lots of architecture. We wanted it to be a romantic and special day by having our marriage blessed by God, with a party that never wanted to stop for our reception.
Our Favorite Wedding Memories
Our ceremony was very special to us. It incorporated family traditions like lighting the unity candle and our marriage being blessed as a sacrament between us and God. 2nd favorite moment was honestly our party bus ride from the church to downtown Plymouth and taking photos! That was SOOOO much fun for everyone.
Wedding DJ Experience
Probably a somewhat unusual request, I didn’t want any slow songs during our wedding reception. I wanted our wedding DJ to make it a party ALLLLL night long, and that is exactly what it was. The dance floor was packed from the moment open dancing started until the end of the night.
Our first dance was to “When You Say You Love Me” by Josh Groban. We chose that song 1. because we love Josh Groban, but 2. because of the words in the song. They embody how we feel for each other, how dedicated we are to one another, and how we can’t imagine life without one another.
Wedding Photography Experience
Chris, our wedding photographer, was THE BEST!! One, he captured our wedding day beautifully. He got every shot, at every angle, detail shots, people’s reactions — literally everything. When we look at our photos, we can feel ourselves reliving the day. Our bridal party loved him too! They kept telling me how much fun and comfortable he made it. In addition to my event coordinator, Chris ensured we stayed on schedule, especially in the morning when my coordinator was at the church/venue. Chris was really a huge part to our day going successfully.
Wedding Videography Experience
My parents started a tradition when I was younger where we would watch their wedding video every year on their anniversary, and it is one of my favorite childhood memories. This is a tradition we want to share with our future children — to show them what unconditional love and commitment truly mean. The video is our one way of reliving the day over and over, and it is so special to us.
Our Wedding Planning Advice
Take everything one step at a time. Celebrate the small wins when you finish booking a vendor, send out an invitation, etc. It can all be so overwhelming, but I promise it is all worth it in the end. My biggest advice to brides is to try not to let your nerves take over you leading up to your special day. There is so much pressure around having the perfect wedding these days, but with Mike Staff Productions, I promise it will be.
