Our Love Story
We matched on the dating app Hinge. A week after matching, we went on a date at a small cafe. Then the world shut down due to COVID. The next three months, we shared many FaceTimes, Zoom calls, and phone calls. We had a rare opportunity to really get to know each other’s hearts without physically being together. At the time, it was incredibly difficult being away from each other, but looking back, we are really grateful for that time apart. Kyle proposed to me on the beach of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We were on our way to dinner, and I somehow found myself on the beach, and before I knew it, Kyle was on one knee asking me to be his wife.
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted our wedding to be focused on the love we have for each other and to make sure our family and friends had the best time. All of our planning was centered around that, and it ended up being the perfect day.
Our Favorite Wedding Moments
Holly: Spending the morning with my girls was amazing, but I was ready to see Kyle and spend the day with him. Walking down the aisle was my favorite part of the whole day. When I finally got to see him, I couldn’t help but smile. It was such a special moment.
Kyle: When I saw Holly walk down the aisle, I felt a mixture of excitement and happiness. It was like we were the only two people in the room, and she looked so beautiful.
Wedding Photography Experience
Our wedding photographers, Chris and Jordan, were absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, planning with Chris was easy, and we knew it was going to be a great day with his energy, humor, and professionalism. They both made us feel so comfortable, and we truly enjoyed their company. We will be looking back on these photos for the rest of our lives. The fact that Chris and Jordan were able to capture all of the big and small moments of our day is something we can never thank them enough for.
Wedding Videography Experience
Our videographers, Dylan and Madison, were truly amazing. From the very beginning, planning with Dylan was easy, and we knew he was going to pay attention to certain parts of the day that were really important to us. Getting a wedding video was one of the most important things to us. Being able to relive the day by watching everything back is so special. It was very humid on our wedding day, and while we were taking pictures outside, Dylan was quick to grab me glasses of water, while Madison wet napkins and placed them on my back to cool me down. They truly went above and beyond in taking care of us!
Our First Dance Song
Our first dance was to “My Muse” by Owl City. When his album came out, we were listening to all the songs in the car. When this song came on, Kyle told me he envisioned us dancing to this song on our wedding day. The words were so relatable, and we knew it was perfect for us.
Our DJ Experience
Our wedding DJ, DJ Brad, kept the dance floor alive the whole night! He made sure to play all of our must-play plays, which we appreciated. He was kind, approachable, and had a smile on his face the whole time.
Our Wedding Planning Advice
Our biggest piece of advice is to make decisions together and enjoy the planning process. It can feel like a lot in the moment, but if you remember the whole day is about your love for each other, every little decision doesn’t feel as heavy.
Holly: I made a wedding day binder that had specific information on every detail of the wedding, along with descriptions and pictures. It made it very easy for our family and friends who helped set up, and decreased the amount of questions we got!
