Our Real Detroit Wedding: June 8, 2018

“Overall, our experience with Mike Staff Productions was fantastic. Everyone who we’ve worked with, from the initial interview to the day of the wedding, have been enthusiastic, courteous, and kind. We always felt that we were of importance to them, and we have highly recommended them. In fact, one of my coworkers booked them for her wedding after I told her about them. Our Love Story

“Eddie and I first met at Macomb Community College. He was President of the Improv Comedy Club and I was part of the Creative Writing Club. They took place one after another, and Eddie joined my club to get to know me better. Soon enough, I joined his club to get to see him more. After a few weeks of talking, we went on our first date to Lakeside Mall, which was followed up by another date at Youmacon in Detroit. Soon after our first month of dating, right around Christmas, we both knew that we’d be married one day. However, we were patient to make sure we finished college (as we both went to Oakland University for our bachelors) and had stable jobs. Once that was all said and done, Eddie decided he couldn’t wait any longer and proposed on a warm February day during a walk around my neighborhood. I had jokingly mentioned that he could propose at any time, and once we were in my driveway he decided to pop the question.”

“Getting a professional wedding video wasn’t something we considered until we met with Mike Staff Productions. Hearing about how it was a great way to celebrate and remember the day on anniversary’s sold it for us, since I knew I would want to cherish the memories and share the day with my future family. We absolutely love how the video turned out, and love how the team incorporated some of our favorite songs into the film.”

Our Wedding Photography

“Our wedding photos were the most important part during the planning process. I have heard stories from loved ones warning me about hiring friends as photographers, or finding the best deal. I was going to save money on the cake, venue, and dress to ensure we would get the best photos possible. Working with Mary and Lynn, I’m confident that we are going to love our pictures. They worked well with us, both on a professional and personal level, and had a great eye for detail.”

Our Wedding Vision

“Going into our wedding planning, I didn’t really have much of a vision other than I wanted blue and orange – our colors. We considered a nerdy theme, an artistic theme, and a classic theme. We ended up going with photographs and memories, using pictures from our childhood as table numbers, providing small cameras with candy as wedding favors, and offering a photo booth for guests. The only part that didn’t really “fit” was our cake, which was a watercolor design like our invitations – that catered more to our artistic side. We wanted our wedding to celebrate us, and not get caught up in the details.

Some of our favorite moments included, our romantics session with the photographers at Heritage Gardens for our first look and bridal party photos! If we had more time, we could have spent the entire day with them.

Another highlight of the night was the dancing, since both of our families were more than willing to dance all night long. Again, we wished we could have kept the party going since there was no sign of stopping except the clock striking midnight. However, the best part of our wedding was spending it with our bridal party. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen were so excited for us to get married – sometimes, more excited than we were, which made it even more special.”
