Holly & Mitchell’s Wedding at Fox Hills

‘Mitch and I made the decision to move from Michigan to Arizona together in May of 2014, and then we later bought a house there in the summer of the following year. After accomplishing so much together, we knew it was time to take the next step in our relationship. Although the day he proposed, I was definitely not expecting it! Haha. The summer of 2016, Mitch and I took a trip to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan to visit my mom, and he proposed to me on the top of Sugarloaf Mountain overlooking Lake Superior in Marquette, MI. I remember we were both so nervous, that we put the ring on the wrong hand at first, and after realizing it a few seconds later, we had to switch the ring to my left hand! Haha It was magical, definitely a surprise, and I couldn’t of asked for a more perfect proposal!’

Our Fall Wedding

‘Before Mitch even proposed, I knew I wanted a fall wedding. I knew I wanted fall leaves, pumpkins, apples, and I knew for sure I wanted donuts and cider from the cider mill, since this is something I love and miss about Michigan, and we can’t get this in Arizona. It was everything I envisioned and more, and even with the rain, I still was able to have my dream ceremony outside with logs and sunflowers exactly how I envisioned it (and exactly how I had it on my Pinterest board. Fox Hills was so beautiful and the perfect venue.

I didn’t envision crying (happily) all day, but I don’t think there was a moment I wasn’t in tears! I would have to say my favorite moment of the day was when our minister read the personalized letters that we wrote to each other during our vows. We worked so hard on those letters, and it was so special to hear them read out loud on our day. Pretty sure I cried during that, of course!’
