Our Love Story
We met in 2014 where we would go on a few dates, and then stop talking for a while. We finally got together at the end of that year and have been in love since. Tearis proposed in Campus Martius in Downtown Detroit after a beautiful dinner at the Apparatus Room. My family was waiting on the other side of the tunnel that we walked through to congratulate us, and family and friends met us downtown a little later to celebrate with us!
Our Wedding Video
We wanted to get a professional wedding video so that we could see what the day looked like from a different perspective. There were some parts that we missed, like people during cocktail hour and our bridal party walking in to the reception, so we are excited to see all of that in the video. We are also very excited to relive our vows and the speeches that were given during our reception!
Our Wedding Photos
Our two Detroit wedding photographers, Dennis and David, were beyond amazing. They were so fun to work with – they kept everyone laughing even in the freezing cold, and made sure to get all photos that we wanted while adding in some great additional pieces. Our wedding photos are going to be what we look at for years to come to remember our special day, so knowing that our photographers truly wanted to help us capture the day meant everything to us.
Our Wedding DJ
Once the Cupid Shuffle was played, you couldn’t get people off of the dance floor. He made sure to pronounce everyone’s name correctly, made sure he catered to what we wanted and made sure to keep the dance floor packed!
Our first dance song was “Here and Now” by Luther Vandross. Jenny had never heard the song, and the moment Tearis played it for her she knew that it was the most perfect song to describe their relationship.
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted something classy and unique, and felt like that was exactly what The Gem Theatre offered us. We loved the idea of something simple but elegant, and a night for everyone to celebrate our love and have a great time doing it.
Our Favorite Wedding Memories
Our first look occurred in the same spot that Tearis proposed – it was a beautiful moment full of so much love and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
