The Guide to the Wedding Day for the Shy Bride

Tips for the Wedding Day for the Shy Bride

Wedding day planning, preparations and celebrating are usually full of excitement, but for many brides who are introverted and shy, it can bring a lot of anxiety. A shy bride should enjoy the season of engagement and their big day, rather than feel overwhelmed and anxious. Celebrate in a way that fits you! Family and friends may pressure you to celebrate big, but it doesn’t have to include a guest list of 500. You have the freedom to do things your way and you will be happier without the anxiety! Here are some ways to planning a wedding that is perfectly you.

Limit Parties and Showers

Having to attend multiple engagement parties and bridal showers can become overwhelming for anyone, especially if you tend to be more of an introvert. Limiting the number of parties and showers you have will help you to enjoy the ones you have scheduled and not become overwhelmed. Don’t feel that you need to make a lot of small talk, instead maybe you and your fiance can say one big thank you at the end of the event, rather than going around chatting with everyone.

Smaller Bridal Party

Having a smaller bridal party will decrease the chance of drama and the number of people offering their opinions along the way, especially if your best friends are extroverted. It is far easier to manage a bridal party of three to four women compared to over six. This will allow all of you to enjoy the experience as much as possible. It will also be more fun on the dance floor with your DJ!

Talk to Your Photographer and Videographer

Communicate with your photographerDJ, and videographer to confirm details and make sure they understand what you are looking for. Give them a heads up of guests who may try to take over the show ahead of time so they can deal with any potential stresses on your big day so it’s off your plate. Hire your wedding photographer to take your engagement photos so they can get to know your style. If you’re a shy bride, let your videographer know. They can capture more candid shots and remain hidden, so you don’t even notice they are there. Share your favorite playlist with the DJ so he can know your style too.

Simple Pre-Ceremony

Keeping your pre-ceremony simple and intentional will allow to you to be your best self for the ceremony and reception. Many couples find it helpful to do a first look photo opportunity and take group pictures before the actual ceremony. This keeps things from being rushed and takes off some of the pressure.

Take Breaks

Be sure to and take some me time. Don’t feel like you need to be on all day. Do a few things that energize you and help keep you grounded, such as taking a walk, drinking coffee or reading a book. Chat with your photographer, and sneak away from your reception for a few evening wedding photos. This is your day and you can make it exactly what you want. This will keep you smiling and enthusiastic, rather than just surviving the endless conversations. Let a few people know ahead of time that you are going to be pulling away for just a few minutes so they know and can take care of anything that needs help or addressing.

Make the Reception Yours

What stresses you out when you think about your wedding reception? Do you want to give speeches or dance in front of everyone? If the answer is no, then skip it! Many brides make memories that last a lifetime through their first dance, but you may not feel the same about what’s meaningful and thoughtful for others. Do what feels right for you and your fiance. At the end of the day this is your special day.

"They all went 100% above our expectations."

We booked DJ, photography, and videography and all went 100% above our expectations. Our families and friends were so impressed with the music, that there was always a large group on the dance floor. We felt so comfortable and relaxed during our photos because our photographers made us feel that way. This was important to us. Overall, we are so happy we selected Mike Staff Productions to cover those wedding needs.

"We could not see ourselves trusting any other team to run and capture such an important day."

It was great having all the various production teams coordinated out of one place. That alone gave us peace of mind when planning everything. Both photographers, both videographers and our DJ had all worked at some point together in the past, they worked great together and all knew exactly how to keep things on schedule and running smoothly. Having now gone through the day, we could not see ourselves trusting any other team to run and capture such an important day. We absolutely recommend Mike Staff!

"We loved that it was a one-stop-shop so we didn't have to look around."

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about Mike Staff Productions! We used them for photography, videography, and DJ. We loved that it was a one-stop-shop so we didn't have to look around. Patrick was our videographer and he was such a nice guy! I was worried about videography because I am so uncomfortable on camera, but he made me feel completely at ease and captured the day beautifully! Love Mike Staff Productions, I have been recommending them to everyone.

"Our minds were put to ease very quickly!"

Our experience was top notch from start to finish. We were so nervous going into finding the right company, but our minds were put to ease very quickly! Everyone was so friendly, eager to help and made sure all of our questions were answered. We could not be more happy with our DJ, photographer, and videographer! We would highly recommend Mike Staff Productions!

"Mike Staff made the planning super streamlined and easy."

Overall, we can’t say enough positive things about our experience. We had all our photos and video in a few weeks, the DJ kept the party going, and Mike Staff made the planning super streamlined and easy. It was so nice to not shop around or coordinate three separate vendors for photo, video, and DJ because they all worked together without us having to do any extra work or communicating. Everyone the day of and prior from the office was professional, answered my last minute emails at all hours and very promptly, and answered any off the cuff questions we had over the phone with ease. We would 100% recommend to any bride and groom who are looking for professionals that take all the coordinating and stress away.

"It makes such a difference when you know you are working with a reputable company."

We planned the wedding of our dreams in three months while we were living 10,000 miles apart and not even living in the state in which we were getting married in! The only way we were able to make it happen was choosing to use Mike Staff for our pictures, video and DJ. They took care of everything and helped me plan my Michigan wedding from Florida. It makes such a difference when you know you are working with a reputable company, so you aren’t worried about anyone being late or unprofessional. We knew what we were getting with Mike Staff and being able to depend on them took so much stress out of the planning process.
