In an entire wedding day there are few moments that are more touching and emotional to photograph than the first time the bride and groom see each other. The bride may spend hours getting ready, starting early in the morning to make sure her hair and makeup are exactly what she imagined. There are a few different ways brides and grooms choose to see each other for the first time and they are all magical.
Before the Ceremony
Many brides and grooms decide to see each other before the ceremony. They take this time to make it really special and often times these are some of the most treasured, romantic pictures of the entire day. This can be a lot of fun – surprising each other and enjoying this unique time together while getting rid of some wedding jitters. Another bonus to this time is that you can do the majority of the pictures before the ceremony so you do not have a large time gap between the wedding and the reception.
Traditional First Look Down the Isle
The more traditional first look is when the bride walks down the isle toward the groom. Often times, the groom will be overcome with emotion, or at least makes a great face when he sees his bride for the first time. And then there is usually an equally beautiful reaction from the bride as she walks down the aisle with her father.
There isn’t a right or wrong way to for the bride and groom to see each other for the first time. Whichever you decide, this moment will certainly be special. You and your photographer can work hard to get the best possible picture that captures the moment in the way you want.
