The Real Detroit Wedding Molly & Ken

Our Real Detroit Wedding: August 11, 2018

“Our experience with Mike Staff Productions was phenomenal! From the first meeting with Randy, to the end of our reception, everything was perfect! When there was a little hiccup with our original videographer, you guys stepped in and quickly resolved the issue (shout out to Rocky for being amazing!!). I loved how organized and professional everything was; it helped ease my anxiety a lot!

Also, when speaking with James and Rocky the week of our wedding, I never felt rushed in asking questions or bringing up suggestions. They were so great! It did help to bundle services, for both cost and ease of mind. It was great to not have to book two different vendors for video/DJ. If I could give you guys 100 stars I would! Thank you so much for making our day perfect!” – Happy Bride, Molly

Our Love Story

“Ken and I met about 8 years ago at an MSU party. Sparks flew for the both of us, but we spent the next few years figuring life out. Eventually, in the fall of 2015, we reconnected and went on our ‘first date’ January 8, 2016. From then forward, it was love! Ken proposed on July 13, 2017. He told me we were going to dinner with friends and to meet him at his family’s cabin in Fenton. When I arrived, he was down at the water, still in his dress clothes from work. He told me how beautiful I looked then got down on one knee and proposed! My mind could’t process what was happening because I was so shocked! I even forgot to give my answer (obviously it was a yes!) for a few moments so Ken had this blank stare on his face, haha. It’s been amazing ever since!”

Our Wedding Memories

Just like every other bride on the planet, I’d been planning my wedding ever since I was a little girl. I loved the idea of a summer wedding, with lots of pink and gold, roses and hydrangeas. Additionally, the most important thing to the both of us was to have our entire family and friends there with us to celebrate. We ended up having everything we ever wanted: perfect weather and family and friends to surround us and support us with their love.

“Personally, my favorite moment of the day was the moment just before the ceremony started when I was in the back of church with my bridesmaids. The anticipation was killing me! I was incredibly nervous and anxious, and so my bridesmaids helped tell some cheesy jokes to make me laugh. All of that nervous energy disappeared when I began to walk down the aisle and saw Ken. My emotions then turned to joy and happiness because I was about to be his wife! I think Ken would say that his favorite moment of our day was either seeing me for the first time or cutting our cake. He is obsessed with the movie Top Gun, so we cut our cake to ‘Danger Zone’.”

Our Wedding Video

“Initially, I didn’t want a wedding video. Ken convinced me and I’m so glad we decided to do it! It’s such a fun feeling to be able to relive that day and see the little things that may have been missed. It’ll be a treasured keepsake for years to come.

I love how our videographer Rocky captured the little moments; me saying hi to family before mass, Ken hanging out with his groomsmen, and I especially love all the footage of my cheesy dance moves. Again, I’m so happy that we get to relive that entire day, whenever we want.”

Our Wedding DJ

Our DJ James was amazing! I really wish I could see him again to thank him! He kept the dance floor packed the ENTIRE night. He even got Ken and I some apps to snack on during the receiving line and got our head table a round of drinks. What really packed our dance floor, besides our anniversary dance, was the first song played: My House by Flo Rida. Ken and I have a teenage niece, Maggie, who has special needs and is wheelchair bound. She absolutely adores Flo Rida and so James played that to open the night. I swear every single person was out on that dance floor! Maggie had the biggest smile on her face, and it absolutely warmed our hearts to see her so happy. Thank you James for that!

We played ‘Today’ by Brad Paisley for our first dance song. For Ken and I, we feel as though we’ve already experienced a lot in our relationship, and so this song symbolized that no matter what arises in our future married life, we can get through it together. Also, this song reminded us that happy memories with our family and friends are the most important thing in life.

Thank you, Molly & Ken! It was an honor to work with you!
