The holidays are such a fun time of year for many reasons. From the Christmas decor and music, to shopping for gifts, to spending extra time with family, we just love this time of year. That’s why we gathered the best Metro Detroit Christmas light displays for you to enjoy.
Need a break from wedding planning? Wedding planning is stressful, and sometimes you just need to get your mind off of it. Check out one (or more!) of these Metro Detroit Christmas lights displays. Because is there anything better than enjoying some Christmas lights and sipping on hot chocolate? We didn’t think so.

When: November 25, 2019 – January 5, 2020 from 5:00pm – midnight.
The buildings in downtown Rochester will be covered with more than 1 million points of glimmering holiday light. Visit a local coffee shop and enjoy a nice stroll down Main Street!
When: December 5-8, 12-15, 17-23, and 26-28 from 6:30pm – 10:00pm.
Cost: $20 – $30 depending on membership status
Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village features over 80 acres of living traditions. From holiday goods to food and beverages. Enjoy the historic home tours to see centuries of family holiday traditions. Each lantern-lit path leads to a new winter wonderland. From ice skating, to tinsel details, hundreds of Christmas lights, and even a fireworks display, it is safe to say Greenfield Village will get you in the holiday spirit.
When: November 16, 2019 to January 5, 2020, various time slots available

The Detroit Zoo Wild Lights will light up your holiday season. The event brings over give million LED lights throughout the zoo. Trees, buildings, and 280 sculptures are lit up. Experience the Christmas magic as you stroll through all that the Detroit Zoo Wild Lights has to offer.
When: November 28 – December 31, 5:30pm – 9:00pm Sunday – Thursday and 5:30pm – 10:00pm Friday & Saturday
Cost: $25 per vehicle
Walking outside for a light show not for you? Well you’re in luck! Nite Lights is a drive thru Christmas light show. The light show is a 1.5 mile display through the Michigan International Speedway. The event even includes food and drinks, visits from Santa Claus, and live reindeer.
When: November 29 – December 23, 11:00am to 4:00pm and until 8:00pm on select nights
Cost: $15 – $22.50 depending on dates
Is there anything like the holidays at the Great Estate? For the 48th year, Meadow Brook Hall is hosting a self-guided tour through the elegant rooms of The Hall. The rooms are decked in holiday decor, with over 50 stunning trees. Even a 10 foot tree made of 150 poinsettias! On select evenings, visitors can stroll the grounds to enjoy this landmark trimmed in lights and sip hot cocoa while warming themselves by the fire during their Holiday Nights and Winter Nights.
When: November 21 – December 31, 7:00pm – 10:00pm Monday – Friday, and 6:00pm – 10:00pm on Saturday & Sunday
Cost: $5 cash per vehicle
The Wayne County Lightfest offers five miles of colorful Christmas light displays! They also have Santa’s Shelter where visitors can get refreshments and photos with Santa.
When: November 29-30, December 1, 6-8, 13-15, 19-22, 26-29, 4:00pm to 9:00pm
Cost: $10 – $20 depending on ticket type
