A Heartwarming $500 Gift for Rosie’s Kitty Catfé

When Mike Staff Productions launched Mike’s Cash Your Causewe asked the question:  “If we gave you $500 to use to help someone else in need, what would you do with the money?”, we knew Metro Detroiters would amaze us with their stories of giving back—and they did! One submission stood out for its kindness and passion: Michala Berger, one of our past brides, nominated Heather from Rosie’s Kitty Catfé in Clinton Township.

Heather has devoted her life to rescuing and rehoming cats, and Michala wanted to support her inspiring mission.

Rosie’s Kitty Catfé: A Safe Haven for Cats

Rosie’s Kitty Catfé was the first cat café in Macomb County, created to give rescued cats a loving, cage-free environment while they waited for their forever homes. Visitors could enjoy a warm cup of coffee while socializing with playful kittens, often forming lifelong bonds and adopting their new furry friend.

Unfortunately, the café had to close its physical location earlier this year due to local ordinances. This was a significant loss since the café was not only a home for cats but also a key source of funding for Heather’s mission.

Michala’s $500 Nomination

Michala’s connection to Rosie’s Kitty Catfé runs deep. She has always admired Heather’s dedication to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming cats. Even after the café closure, Heather hasn’t slowed down—she’s still working tirelessly to raise funds, provide veterinary care, and find homes for cats in need.

“She’s so hardworking and selfless,” Michala shared. “This $500 will help her continue providing for these cats, covering vet bills and other necessities. She deserves all the support she can get.” Check out Michala and Beau’s MacRay wedding here.

Heather’s Reaction: Grateful and Inspired

When Heather learned she was the recipient of Michala’s $500 gift, she was deeply moved. “Every donation makes a difference,” she said. “We’re so grateful for people like Michala who believe in what we’re doing. This will go a long way in helping our cats and the people who take them in thrive.”

How You Can Help

Although Rosie’s Kitty Catfé is currently without a physical location, Heather’s mission continues. The café operates through donations, ensuring cats receive the care, love, and medical attention they need.

If you’re inspired by Michala’s story, consider donating to Rosie’s Kitty Catfé or following their journey as they work toward reopening. Together, we can help make a difference for Metro Detroit’s furry friends.
