The Wedding Boom: Why You Should Book Vendors Early

The Wedding Boom Means You Should Consider Booking Vendors Early

The wedding boom is real. After several years of postponed weddings, 2024 and 2025 dates are booking and booking fast, 35-45% faster, in fact.

Guests are also eager to partake in festivities and according to a recent Yahoo News Study, 97% of people surveyed responded that they’re ready to attend weddings again. Enter what’s known as the ‘wedding boom’. Couples are picking wedding dates, sending out invitations and planning the party some have postponed for months, even years.

When it comes to booking your wedding vendors, there’s usually a standard booking timeline couples follow. But when it comes to upcoming weddings, there’s nothing standard about planning. These days, the sooner you can select (and secure) the vendors you want to work with, the better. Now, don’t get us wrong, just because you should consider booking vendors sooner that normal doesn’t mean you should rush into the decision. You’re hiring other people to make things happen. And if they don’t do their jobs, your once-in-a-lifetime wedding can become a nightmare.

We’ve been in this business long enough to hear all sorts of wedding horror stories—and we’ve figured out how to avoid them all. We’ve made securing a wedding team that you can trust easier than ever. We’ll help you check 3 things off your to-do list with one phone call.

Have Your Venue Booked? Here’s What You Should Do Next

Our team talks with couples planning their wedding everyday, and they have shared with us the difficulty they are having securing vendors for their wedding celebrations. Once you have your venue booked, we recommend knocking these things of you to-do list as quickly as possible:

Photographer

Typically, you would book your photographer about a year in advance of your wedding date. With the wedding boom, photographers are booking up much quicker than normal. We recommend booking your wedding photographer shortly after booking your venue.

Wedding DJ

Previously, you could plan to book your wedding DJ 9 to 12 months before your wedding. As with wedding photographers, DJs are now booking out further in advance. Book your DJ soon after securing your vendor.

Videographer

Videography is a service that many couples think they don’t need, but then add on shortly before the wedding. Due to some guests being unable to attend weddings, we are seeing couples decide on videography much sooner. With that said, videographers are booking much quicker than ever before, so give yourself some peace of mind knowing that your professional wedding videographer is booked in advance.

Florist

Usually, you would book your florist 6 to 7 months before your wedding. Due to the wedding boom, florists are booking up to a year in advance. If you have specific florists that you’re dreaming to work with, you need to book them at least a year in advance to secure your date.

Wedding Dress

Shipping delays are impacting more than just groceries – its impacting wedding dresses too. Many dresses in bridal shops are made-to-order, so schedule your bridal appointment soon after getting engaged to accommodate for shipping time. Dresses can take anywhere from 6 to 15 months to arrive.

Bridal Shower Venue

Don’t forget about your pre-wedding festivities! Due to the pandemic, many weddings were postponed. Now venues are accommodating 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 couples. Because of this, more couples are opting for Friday, Sunday, and even weekday weddings. This is limiting venue availability for bridal showers. Once you’ve booked your wedding day vendors, start reaching out to venues to secure a date for your bridal shower.

Post-COVID Wedding Planning Help

For the last 2 years, couples have been faced with difficult decisions impacting their wedding with the spread of COVID-19 and its variants. Whether you’re on your third or fourth wedding date or your date is a few months from now and you’re just not sure what to do, we’ve tapped planners, venues, and other experts to help couples move forward.
