Our Love Story
Nick and I met at our church’s young adult ministry a few years ago. He was interested right from the start, but I started dating someone else and we became friends. Then that relationship ended for me right after Nick started dating someone else. It seemed like the timing was never right and it wasn’t meant to be. But God works in funny ways and after being friends for over a year, we both ended up being single and started dating, and the rest is history. It has always been fun and easy with Nick. He truly is my best friend and I’m so thankful God gave me him. After dating for about a year and a half, Nick planned a surprise proposal right after I came back from a missions trip in India.
One of my best friends, Kristen, is a photographer and had been wanting to do a couples shoot to build her portfolio and asked if Nick and I would like to do one with her. Of course we said yes! Little did I know that her and Nick were planning a proposal for that day. I was suspicious, but all of our friends left me to think that it wasn’t going to be for a while. So after taking a few photos by the woods of a park, we headed to a beautiful trail. Kristen told me to turn my back towards Nick and look up at the trees and that Nick would come from behind and twirl me around. I kept waiting and waiting (but was secretly mesmerized by the fall trees) and I questioned whether he was coming. Then Kristen told me she changed her mind and wanted me to turn around. So I turned around and there Nick was, on one knee! I was so surprised, I screamed “what?!” Definitely one of our favorite days.
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted our wedding to be centered on our belief and hope in Jesus Christ. Jesus has changed our lives and we have seen Him work in so many cool ways in our relationship. Our desire was for the love, hope, and joy found in Jesus to be our foundation for the day. He’s blessed us with an amazing family and a group of friends, that we just wanted to celebrate with them and have a big party. We got married in a big, white barn and had BBQ – we just wanted to keep it simple and fun!

Honestly, every song had everyone on the dance floor! Matt did such a good job at playing a variety of music, yet keeping everyone’s interest. Our dance floor was never empty. After the wedding, people told us that our wedding DJ did such a good job at keeping the party going.
Our Wedding Video
We love our cinematic wedding video! Mike Staff did such a good job at editing the video in such a way that it highlighted our favorite parts and represented us and what we wanted the day to be about.
