Our Love Story
Steve proposed in July of 2022! He had the sweetest private trip planned to Brokenbow, OK. The trip and activities were a surprise for Kate, but she had a hunch he was going to propose – she was so right!
We matched on Bumble in December of 2019. Before our first date we found out that we lived less than 500 yards away from each other in neighboring apartment complexes. Shortly after we became official boyfriend & girlfriend the pandemic hit – even though it was a tough time, it was such a blessing for Kate, Steve and our relationship. During that time we both had really had NOBODY else to hang out with except each other and for that they were truly grateful. Our relationship blossomed during that time and truly became one of the most fun friendships.
Our Wedding Vision
We had a vision that we wanted it to be really special for us & our guests and for them to feel our love. We wanted to incorporate lots of things that were special and unique to us too. We are very fun loving and love to be playful.
Our Favorite Wedding Memories
Our favorite moment of the day was our epic dance battle during our wedding reception. Our wedding planner & DJ helped divide our guests up and mixed them together putting some on each side of the dance floor. Some on Steve’s & some on Kate’s. Steve and Kate each had their own song picked out in secret with our DJ & had a few moments to coach our sides to battle it out & go crazy and it was the GREATEST ever.
Wedding DJ Experience
Our wedding DJ really made our vision come to life for the dance battle and for the memorial daddy daughter dance for Kate’s Dad. Complete with silly hats and a dedication with everyone on the dance floor.
Our first dance was a slowed down version of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and Walk the Moons “Shut Up and Dance”. We chose it because Kate always wants to dance no matter what and ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ is her favorite song to dance to and karaoke to.
Wedding Photography Experience
Our wedding photography experience with Nick, was awesome! We loved experiencing the day with him. He caught the fun bug quickly and was always there when we wanted to pull him for a photo. We love all of our wedding photos sooo much.
Wedding Videography Experience
Getting a wedding video was absolutely super important for us! Kate loves videos and again it was another thing she always knew she wanted. When it was time to book the wedding videographer it was hard not to get overwhelmed with all the styles and people who offer it. I had to remember when booking our videographer that no matter who you book you’re going to love your wedding video the most of any other video you’ve seen. I love sharing it with people who couldn’t be there too.
Our Wedding Planning Advice
Stick to your guns and stick to your vision! If you have something you really want to do then you have to do it. And know that whatever your vision is – its going to turn out better than you could’ve ever pictured it could be.
