Alessandra & Daniel’s Wedding at The Inn at St. John’s

Our Real Detroit Wedding: July 6, 2018

It was so nice bundling everything together. We didn’t get confused as to who was paid and who wasn’t. We had one point of contact up to the 2weeks before our wedding and even then the DJ, photographer and videographer all reached out to discuss our thoughts and wishes while giving us ideas from their experiences with our venue.  Overall, if we had to do it again, we wouldn’t change a thing with any of them! – Happy Bride, Alessandra

Our Love Story

Our love story began on October 11, 2015 at the Union Workshop in Clarkson, MI. Since that day, we were always on each other’s mind. Our love has been patient, kind and most importantly we are willing to put each other first. In the short three years of getting to know each other, we moved together to two different states, traveled the world and continue to grow our relationship as one.
On December 28, 2016, we were visiting my parents in North Carolina and Daniel wanted to visit Chimney Rock State Park to celebrate his birthday. Little did I know that he was going to propose on his birthday! When we got up in the mountains, he asked me to look through the binoculars and when I turned around he was on his knee. This day was so special to me, we were surrounded by a beautiful view but most importantly, my grandparents from Brazil, Samir & Tereza Arbex and my parents Rogerio & Carla Arbex, had the opportunity to witness our special moment.

Our Wedding Vision

I planned every little detail of our wedding. I wanted my wedding to have a classic romantic feeling. At the beginning stages of planning the wedding my grandpa passed away, I had a dream that he was living in a baby blue house. It was at that moment that I decided my wedding color, baby blue.
My dress was champagne and ivory. Which lead me to select white flowers. Being at St. John’s in the Atrium we knew less would be more. We decided on gold Chiavari chairs, silver table clothes and one bouquet of white flowers at each table.
I think every bride will have their unique vision and touch to their wedding. It’s so important to add your personal touch to each detail. Be sure to have your photographer and videographer capturing them for you as well!

OUR MIKE STAFF PRODUCTIONS PHOTOGRAPHY

At one moment, I told my photographer that I wanted him to be my maid of honor. 😂 I couldn’t asked for a better wedding photographer! He made the day go by so easy, he knew what pictures to take. He was patient with the flower girls and knew how to make everyone smile. We can’t wait to get the finals!

Our Wedding Video

I had a lot of people tell me that my wedding day would fly by but I never really knew the meaning of that until the day of my wedding. It started out slow but then it quickly picked up and the night was over. It was extremely important for us to be able to see our video and remember our big day.
We also got to see parts of our wedding that we missed. As the bride, you don’t really get to see everyone else going down the aisle before you, the string quartet that you had during the cocktail party, your parents crying and so on.
I wouldn’t have done it differently. After our honeymoon, my husband and I got to see our wedding video together. It was our time to relive those moments all over again, show family and eventually someday to our kids.

OUR MIKE STAFF PRODUCTIONS DJ

We decided to play Perfect by Ed Sheeran for our first dance. We selected this song because of the lyrics. Daniel and I also spend almost 5 months taking dance lessons prior to our big day. It’s important for brides to understand that even though you might plan every detail there are many things that can happen to change your plans. For example, your dress can get in the way while dancing or your flower girl can run up on the dance floor during your first dance to give her god father a big hug. Just remember, it’s the moments you never planned that become the most memorable during your big day. The Mike Staff Production crew capture all of these favorite moments.
To be honest I can’t give you a specific song that I remember that night after the special dances. That’s meant to be a compliment!! Daniel and I danced so much that night a long with all of our guests. There was no need to ask the DJ to change songs or not to play certain genres. He had the perfect balance of songs throughout the night to meet every guests wishes. We also didn’t have a wedding coordinator but our wedding DJ was so awesome because he made sure that our timeline stayed on course!

OUR FAVORITE WEDDING MOMENT

My favorite moment was when I was walking down the alter and I was able to see Daniel’s reaction of seeing me for the first time in a wedding dress. This moment was so precious that it’s difficult to describe how happy I was.
