Our Love Story
Dakota and I met through a mutual friend at Michigan State University. We have really similar senses of humor and clicked instantly. When we started dating everything felt so natural. It felt as if we had been friends for forever. A year into our relationship we adopted our rescue dog, Marty. We always used to joke that you could tell we were serious about our relationship because we adopted a dog.
How he asked: We were on vacation with his family at Hilton Head Island, SC. The second day of our vacation, Dakota asked me if I wanted to go walk the beach after dinner. Whenever we go on family vacations we always try to do something just the two of us so I didn’t think anything of it. As we walked down the beach he stopped and told me he couldn’t imagine a life without me in it. He got down on one knee and proposed with the most gorgeous engagement ring that he had design himself.
Our Wedding Vision
We are both from suburbs of Detroit and a lot of our first dates we’re downtown. Our vision for the wedding was urban but also glamorous.
Our Wedding Videography
Having a wedding video was important to us for a number of reasons. We really wanted to be able to see the day again. Getting married is such a surreal and exhilarating experience so being able to rewatch such an amazing day was something special. We also loved that it has all of our family members together.
Our Wedding Memories
Both first looks were awesome! Dakota has known Nick, his best man since elementary school. I know that Nick loves to take any opportunity he can to play a prank on Dakota so he and I planned for him to come out in the wedding dress. It was absolutely hilarious and totally sums up their friendship. However, seeing Dakota’s reaction to my dress and finally getting to see him that day was so amazing!
