Our Love Story

“The day Stevie proposed, he suggested we go to visit my mom, who lives on the beach in Port Huron. My sister called and asked that we dress up so we could take pictures together, because she planned on going to visit my mom the same day. When we got there, we went to the beach to take pictures; my sister and her boyfriend on their own, us as a whole family, my mom and step dad on their own, and then Stevie and I. As Stevie and I were posing and laughing for our pictures, he suddenly he got down on one knee. I was shocked! Capturing moments on video and in pictures is so important to me, so I was VERY grateful he planned our engagement that way. Now I have both video and picture of our proposal AND wedding day.”

“Our Mike Staff Productions Wedding DJ took the time with me before the wedding to go over all my VERY specific requests, and I appreciated that.

Our first dance was a combination of about ten different songs that we had remixed together so we could perform a choreographed dance. We both had visions for the dance. Men don’t often dream about their wedding as little boys, but Stevie said doing a choreographed dance was the only thing he felt really strongly about making sure was incorporated into our day. I had also dreamt of this from my childhood, so we were super excited about it. We tried to incorporate songs that were fun to dance to, songs we both liked, and songs that captured all the different facets of our personalities. I’m so glad we did a choreographed first dance.”

“If your wedding is important to you, you WANT to remember every detail. It only happens once in your entire life, and it goes by so fast. Considering how busy the day is and how many emotions brides and grooms are experiencing as the day goes on, there is no way for our brains to be able to take everything in and be able to re-experience it through memory or even JUST pictures. You HAVE to get a video in order to cherish the day in the future and if you aren’t worried about remembering the details, you might as well go to the courthouse and not spend money or effort on making it special or beautiful. We plan to watch our professional wedding video on every anniversary so we can re-live the joy long after the honeymoon stage fades away.”

John was able to laugh with us and joke around, and that made us feel really comfortable.
