Our Real Wedding: May 11, 2019

Happy couple, Marlee and Connor
Our Love Story
Our love story began with Connor’s dad and Marlee’s mom going to grade school together. After many years of not talking but still staying connected through Facebook, Marlee’s mom messaged Connor’s dad to get feedback on how Connor was liking Concordia University because Marlee was considering attending the university the following school year.
Once Marlee began attending Concordia, Connor introduced himself in the hallway and said, Hi! I think our parents went to school together, it’s such a small world.” After that first conversation in the hallway the couple quickly became the best of friends. Within 2 and a half years later Connor proposed.
The Proposal
The proposal took place in downtown Grand Rapids where they are both originally from (including all of their extended family). Connor asked Marlee to go on a horse drawn carriage ride for what she thought was for their birthday’s. The carriage ride stopped on the famous Grand Rapids blue bridge where Connor then popped the question with family hiding out under the bridge to capture the special moment.
After the proposal Connor had a whole dinner planned with all of our extended family members who also thought we were celebrating our birthday’s. During dinner Connor and Marlee shared their exciting news with all of their family members. It sure was a day to remember for years to come!
Our Wedding Video
Daniel was our expert wedding videographer and we were very happy with our services provided by him! Having a video of all the special moments taking place on our wedding day is SO important to us to have those memories to relive forever. Daniel really blew us away with his ideas for the video and coordinating with everyone to get some really great shots.
Our Wedding DJ
Kyle, our DJ was amazing to work with! His professionalism and energy alone was outstanding! He made all of our DJ needs so easy and fun! He was able to take in the room and feel what our guests were wanting in the music choices while following our playlist at the same time. He easily had everyone on the dance floor for a first song with all our guest right after our first dances. We would HIGHLY recommend his wedding DJ expertise to everyone and anyone! we can’t thank him enough for making our reception one to remember 🙂
Our first dance was to ‘From The Ground Up’ by Dan & Shay. We chose this song because it included many moments and everyday things that take place within our lives or have been said from the father of the bride when choosing a husband for his daughter.
