Our Love Story
Trevor and I met on match.com. We grabbed lunch together at my favorite Mexican restaurant, there he actually ended up meeting my mom (this was not planned). He was really easy going about having met my mom on our first date so I knew he’d be a keeper. Family is very important to us both. He proposed at a “birthday party” for me, him, & his brother (we are all born about 10 days apart). He brought our families together for this and made me an adorable photo album to open in front of them. The photo album had pictures of all our friends, family, & adventures together. It also had little notes in it telling me how much he cared for me. It was very thoughtful and sweet.
Our Wedding Vision and How the Pandemic Changed Our Plans
I have a very large family so I knew I wanted a pretty big wedding. Trevor doesn’t have a large family but he has a lot of close friends. We originally had 250 guests that we were going to invite. I knew I wanted a wedding more on the fancy side. The Colony Club was such a perfect location for my vision.
We had to sadly cut our list down due to Covid-19 restrictions. We had to go from 250 guest to 100. Thankfully 2 months before the wedding restrictions lightened up and we were able to invite 171. It was so hard because we didn’t know if the wedding would actually be able to happen. Things just kept shutting down then opening and shutting back down. We had to put all planning on hold until 2 month’s before the wedding when we got the green light.
Our Wedding Photos
Our professional wedding photographer was very nice. She has a great eye for photo opportunities. Our photos are amazing and we are so unbelievably happy to have them to look back on. Since we sadly had to uninvite some people, the photos have given the family and friends that couldn’t attend a great visual of how the day looked and how special it felt for us.
My Favorite Wedding Day Memories
My favorite part of our wedding was the speeches. My maid of Honor, Trevor’s best man, and Trevor all made speeches. They were full of emotions. Everyone laughed, everyone cried, but most importantly everyone felt the love in the room.
My Husband and I shared a first dance. We danced to Speechless by Dan & Shay. We choose this song because it was my favorite song when we first met. Trevor would sing it to me or play it for me all the time throughout our relationship. It was very special for us.
