Our Love Story
Our story is unique, but that’s what makes it so special. During the year of our proposal, Cameron was in the middle of his 14 month deployment in Afghanistan. While communication was difficult at times, technology made communicating with each other so much easier and simple. Even so, I begged and begged for Cameron to write me a heart felt handwritten letter. I asked for months and his response was always “It’s coming, I’m working on it.”
The day finally came where I checked the mailbox and the letter I have been waiting for was there. I rushed into the house and ripped it open and I was in a state of shock. He sent a letter, but it was 4 pages front and back and encrypted. I was so furious that I sent a Snapchat video to my closest friends complaining about said letter.
After 2 hours of decoding, I dropped the letter and broke down in tears. At the end of the letter the words “Will you marry me?” appeared along with the address of the jewelry store where he had a ring picked out and waiting for me. One of my closest friends came with me to the jewelry store and video taped the reveal to send to him. It was perfect.
Our proposal may not have happened in person, but it happened during one of the biggest years of our lives and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I’m so happy that Mike Staff takes the time to listen to your needs and vision when it comes to photography. I’m so happy we picked John to be our wedding photographer. By the end of the night we felt like we have been friends with John for years. He took the time to pay attention to details as well as calm my nerves during a few stressful moments of the day. Our wedding images are so special to us because we had a photographer who listened to exactly what we wanted.

Honestly, we were on the fence of getting a professional wedding videographer. We actually booked our videographer 3 months after we booked our DJ and photographer.
Our Wedding DJ
Our dance floor was packed the entire night! DJ Kevin did an amazing job reading the crowd and making sure the night ran smoothly. Even two months later, we still get compliments on our wedding DJ! Our first dance song was On My Way to You by Cody Johnson. The first time I heard that song I knew it was ours. Our lives together have been quite literally a long road filled with distance and struggle, but no matter how far apart we are, we know the road always leads to one another.
Our Wedding Vision
We’ve always talked about having a larger wedding with a simple and rustic feel. I love the color purple, so we definitely wanted to incorporate a smoky purple shade into our color scheme. I toured venues by myself since Cam was in Afghanistan. Once I toured Waldenwoods, I knew it was the place for us. They gave me the news that they were booked up on Saturdays in 2019, but had a last minute cancellation for August 17th. Weird enough we had that date on hold at another venue. That sealed the deal for us!
Favorite Wedding Memory
One moment I will never forget was standing up in the bridal suite by myself. The bridal party was lining up, the guests were being seated, and I had a few minutes alone to take it all in. Watching the people you love most in the world come together to watch one of the biggest moments of your life is an incredible thing.
I also will never forget the look in Cameron’s eyes as I walked down the aisle towards him, In that moment I never felt more in love.
