Mike's Cash, Your Cause

I’d love to bless my friend Marla and her 501(c)(3), Jam & Bread. This organization provides mentorship and creative outlets for youth in the Cadillac area, offering music, arts, and crafts programs to help kids explore their talents. Marla has a passion for giving young people opportunities to shine. I’ve known Marla for over a decade and admire her resilience, humor, and heart. She’s overcome incredible challenges, including the loss of her twins and raising her autistic son to live independently. Even after losing her mother, she shared her journey with grace and humor, inspiring us all. Supporting Jam & Bread would not only further Marla’s mission but also show her how deeply she is appreciated for her strength and dedication.

I’d like to nominate the Kieft family for Mike’s Cash Your Cause Giveaway. Jessica, Collin, and their son Levi are navigating an incredibly difficult journey. Their unborn daughter, Claire Marie, has been diagnosed with anencephaly, a condition that will tragically limit her life to just a few hours after birth. Despite this, Jessica continues to carry Claire with strength and hope. The family is facing mounting medical expenses, future funeral costs, and daily living challenges, all while preparing for both birth and loss. They are trying to raise $15,000 to cover these expenses and create space to grieve and cherish the brief time they’ll have with Claire. A $500 contribution would be a meaningful blessing to help support this inspiring family during an unimaginable time.

I have adopted a young mother and her preschool aged daughter for the holidays. Mom was in an abusive relationship. She unjustly lost custody of her daughter, represented herself in court and regained custody, then fled Texas and landed in Michigan. She is settling in Michigan near a family member, but has nothing other than the two suitcases of items she brought to Michigan. Her young daughter has some anger and separation issues, but is slowly making progress! This woman's strength and resilience is extraordinary.

I would LOVE to donate the money to Heather, the owner of Rosie’s Kitty Catfe. She is so hard working, day in and day out to support cats in the metro Detroit area. Her physical catfe location shut down in March (ordinance reasons) and that was her main source of revenue and allowed her to house and adopt out many cats. She has not let the lack of location slow her down. She is constantly fundraising and supporting these cats to health and finding great homes. The money would be so helpful to her and the catfe to help for vet care and physical necessities for the cats! I can’t think of a more deserving person.

I would like $500 to go to helping the families who lost their homes in the Lake Orion fire/explosion last week. So many lost everything! Thank you for the consideration. Prayers accepted!!!

I would help a family I know. I worked with the husband (he was my manager), but his wife has been in annd out of the hospital and one of their sons also has a lot of health problems. I know they have quite a few animals (horses, dogs, etc) that they are trying to find help with. $500 wouldn’t fix all their problems, but it might relieve some of the stress, especially with holidays coming up.
